Meet the Team
Mark Elie, Founder, CEO, Artistic Director
Mark has over 26 years’ experience in running the Mark Elie Dance Foundation, a registered charity. He is responsible for overseeing the programme of classes for Portobello Dance School. As well as teaching, he liaises with the other dance trainers regarding classes and the monitoring of student progress. Mark also directs a variety of annual shows, including ConfiDance and the Classically British showcase of professional dancers.
Lorraine Osman – Dance Captain, Administrator
Lorraine is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the dance school and summer school including class registration, the collection of fees, liaison with parents / carers and dance tutors. Lorraine ls also responsible for outreach and recruitment, student welfare, providing pastoral care to the students, and managing all health & safety requirements.
Spencer Murray – Production Manager, Stylist
Spencer is responsible for artist liaison, press liaison, organising costumes and make up. Spencer also oversees the entire dance productions, including styling, coordinating and setting the production schedule with the designers and the Choreographer, hiring technicians and organising hospitality in liaison with the Artistic Director and Dance Captain.
Satpaul Bhamra – Brand Consultant/Designer
Satpaul has been involved with us for over a decade. He has helped us redefine our activities as Portobello Dance, a destination dance school run by a charity providing access to dance. He often oversees the designed materials produced for our events.
Board of Trustees
Lynda Rosenior-Patten – Chair
Lynda is a Creative Management Consultant with over 30 years’ experience in the Development and Creative sectors, with15 years in senior management roles in the corporate and voluntary sectors. Lynda has a Masters’ degree in Voluntary Administration and is experienced in Leadership Development, Strategic Management, Enterprise & Employability Training, Project Management, Programme Development, Fundraising, Audience Engagement and Policy Development.
Patsy Alexander – Treasurer
Patsy is a Financial Director and a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years’ post qualification experience. She has a MSC Degree in Charity Finance and Accounting and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts. Patsy is an experienced senior manager with substantial experience of working closely with Board members to develop strategies, meet organisational goals and ensure robust governance.
Damian Rayne – Trustee
Director of the Muse Gallery – Contemporary Arts promotion / Gallery / Studio and Muse Film, a local artist led production house. Damian provides business and governance expertise including business development, fundraising, audience development, professional networking and partnership development.
